Today we said farewell to Al’Lora’s grandmother Laverne Ryan. She was one special lady and she will be missed.
I remember coming home with Al’Lora from Lee College over twenty years ago and the warm reception in Granny’s home was unique. I felt like one of the grandkids immediately and twenty years later I can’t believe she’s gone.
One of my favorite memories was when I woke up one morning at her home back during the Gulf War back in the early 90’s, I was asleep on the couch and she was watching the news and the were showing our troops. She laid her hands on the screen and began praying earnestly for them. Praying for their protection and their souls. It was very moving and certianly revealing of her heart.
She loved to talk about the Lord and His soon return. He decided to take her first but I am thankful and confident that she is now in the presence of the Lord.
I will miss you Granny. I hope she will meet up with my grandparents and tell them hello for me. See all of you soon! I can’t wait!
